From the youngest Rainbow to the oldest Ranger, Girlguiding offers opportunities to build confidence, make friends and discover new skills. In the last year, Girlguiding in Sale & Altrincham have hosted or taken part in local events like the St. George's Day Fun Day and Altrincham Festival. They've supported members attending international trips to the Azores and Costa Rica, collaborated with local charities including Bounceback Food and Friends of Worthington Park, and taken girls on camps and holidays that build confidence and independence. Rainbows (ages 4–7) explore adventure through play, making crafts, playing games and learning about the world around them in a community where they feel valued and celebrated. Brownies (ages 7–10) take on bigger challenges, working together and trying new activities. From first-time camping to learning life skills, Brownies discover they can achieve more than they thought possible. Guides (ages 10–14) are encouraged to find their voice and choose their own adventures, whether outdoor challenges, international trips or leading projects that matter to them. It's a time for building friendships, confidence and leadership. Rangers (ages 14–18) develop independence and shape their future through high-level challenges, community volunteering and international representation opportunities. It's a stepping stone to young leadership and gaining skills for university or job applications. None of this could happen without our amazing volunteers. Girlguiding in Sale & Altrincham is powered by people of all backgrounds who give their time and energy to support local girls. If you're looking for a rewarding way to make a difference, join our volunteer team. You don't need previous Girlguiding experience – just enthusiasm and willingness to get involved. Training and support are provided. Girlguiding in Sale & Altrincham is growing. If you know a girl who would enjoy adventure, friendship and fun, sign her up.
