The United Kingdom’s biggest active travel competition is back for its 13th year as Sustrans’ Big Walk and Wheel sets to challenge schools to make the most walked, wheeled, scooted, and cycled journeys over ten school days. Delivering the challenge is Sustrans, the charity aiming to make active travel the easiest and first choice for everyone, with sponsors Schwalbe. A Sustrans survey found half of UK pupils worry about air pollution. Over 2million active journeys to 1,519 schools took place during the 2022 challenge.
