Dinosaurs are returning to Winchester Science Centre for Science Dino-mite on weekends and school holidays between Saturday 1st December 2023 and Tuesday 2nd January 2024. Enjoy a roar-cus festive season filled with T-Riffic fun and dino-mite demos. Families can join the excavation team in Dino Dig, handle some real fossils in Dino Discovery, meet Trixie the baby Triceratops, find the hidden dinosaurs in the Dino Activity Trail and be wowed by live science in The Dino Show – all free with admission. And there’s not just prehistoric activities to get involved in, there’ll also be two live Planetarium shows, huge live science demos & awesome interactive exhibits to excite and inspire all ages. As well as all the roar-cus fun, visitors can enjoy everything else the Science Centre has to offer. A visit to the Planetarium is not to be missed. Explore an epic tale in Space Rocks!, an exciting live show. Discover more about the planets and stars that we share our Solar System with and unearth the secrets of the asteroids and comets that speed around us. Their beautiful light displays include a 36 metre multicoloured light tunnel, a towering enchanted tree, 32 light up stepping stones and a very exciting UK first - glowing seesaws! The seesaws, which glow in a variety of colours, will join last year’s moon chairs to create a playpark of gently glowing, Instagram worthy photo opportunities. The displays will incorporate music to awaken the senses and add a magical, festive feel whilst Christmas food cabins will create a Christmas market vibe. Father Christmas is only available on selected dates (see calendar when booking) and guests can turn up and pay on the day. This will be strictly first come first served and tickets cost £10 per child (0-17) and include a gift. For those who prefer a quieter experience, we’ve introduced Quiet Glow nights on Monday 4 December and Monday 11 December.
