13 Well done to everyone who entered our letter writing competition. The letters were so well written, thought- ful and showed real promise. The results are now in! Can you spot yourself on this page? Don ’ t forget that the total 100 letters submitted to the competition will be on display at The Brewhouse Arts Centre and Café in Burton - on - Trent, from Mon- day 19th July to Monday 6th August in a special exhibition called ‘ Dear Resident...Childhood Letters from Lockdown ’. FIRST PRIZE WINNER: Jacob James, Springfield Junior School. Jacob won £200 - worth of books for his school, courtesy of H&H Spalding Books of Barton - under - Needwood. He also received a Raring2go! stationary bundle and was presented with a Brilliance Award by Alice Johnson, Editor, Raring2go! Burton and Ashby. Gemma Callaghan of Hoo ’ s Writing Corner, who picked the winner, said: “ Jacob ’ s letter is very warm and engaging and makes for an enjoyable read. His style is friendly and warm, adding questions to the reader as food for thought. He uses vivid descriptions through- out his letter to engage the reader and make them a part of his writing.
