Raring2go! Camberley & Farnborough

19 FAMILY CAMPING Raring2go! raring2go.co.uk Off camping this Summer? Having had a fantastic camping trip at Wellington Country Park we’ve collated together some of our favourite camping hacks for an enjoyable camping experience this Summer! 1 It’s a good idea to test your tent in your garden before you go to familiarise yourself with it and help avoid campsite arguments when putting it up! 2 Use a foldable car boot tidy as tent storage. Kept at the front of your tent, one holds muddy shoes and the other toys! It stops mud being transferred into your tent. 3 Pack an extra insulated picnic blanket to pop under your air beds- it prevents cold air creeping up through them! 4 Keep your clothes dry in your tent by storing them in plastic bags or waterproof storage bags- nobody likes damp clothes! Camping Hacks 5 Pack everything in clear plastic tubs for easy camping organisation! It means everything is easy to find when you arrive. 6 Buy some glow sticks and string them together to make a necklace to keep track of your children if they are playing outside when it gets dark (although hopefully with all that fresh air they will be fast asleep by then - ha! Who are we kidding…) 7 Invest in a multi camping tool – it has scissors, screwdrivers, can opener, bottle opener – the list goes on! It means you only have to bring one tool instead of multiple things to remember. 8 Be prepared for early starts and early nights! Have fun and enjoy creating some really special memories. day. As I have already mentioned, I do like my home comforts so for me one of the huge plus points of Welly Park was the camping facilities. For a start they have toilets and they are clean! In fact, very clean. They also have showers which actually do have hot water and again are super clean. There is an area to do washing up and they even have washing machines and tumble dryers available if needed. There is a freezer for storing ice blocks and a charging point for charging electronic devices. I can’t fault the facilities at all and when you are camping with kids having good facilities really does make life easier! On Sunday we woke up to spend our last day at Wellington Country Park before heading home. We lucked out with the weather so the kids were able to enjoy the splash park and revisit all their favourite parts from the previous day. Nobody wanted to leave and we all said if it weren’t for school and work the next day we definitely would have asked to stay another night. If you were asked to describe your perfect camping trip, you would without knowing it be describing a weekend camping at Welly Park. I honestly can’t wait to go again and I think this will now become an annual trip for our family. We all agreed it really was a special weekend and all the children have asked to go back, there were even tears from my daughter about leaving! Thank you, Wellington Country Park, for a really special weekend. We’ll be back soon! For more info on camping at Wellington visit wellingtoncountrypark.co.uk
