He was about to leave the house to go to his first ever piano lesson. A lovely man had come into school assembly last week and shown them some of their favourite songs on the school piano and then one of the year sixes got up and played Made You Look by Meghan Trainor, and sung it at the same time! Since then Arthur had asked his mum really nicely, just when was he able to start his piano lessons. Yesterday, his mum said, “You’ve been so well behaved recently, Arthur, I’ll ring the piano teacher now and see when he can fit you in”. He couldn’t believe he was finally going to start his musical journey. Arthur’s first piano lesson Outside the piano teacher’s studio, Arthur felt very nervous. He wasn’t sure what was in store. Even so, he ran up the path and waited patiently while the piano teacher came to the front door. He introduced himself as Tom and welcomed Arthur and his mum into the studio, where there was a big pale piano, not dark brown wood like the one at school. Tom asked Arthur to sit down at the piano straightaway and before long, he’d shown him enough notes to play Jingle Bells! They all laughed, because it was April, not Christmas, but Arthur secretly promised himself he would practise it when he got home and then he would be able to play it to Grandma and Grandad when it was Christmastime.
