WHAT’S ON AND WHERE TO GO 4 DECEMBER 1st December to 23rd December 2019 Chorley’s Santa Express in December Chorley’s Santa Express is back to whisk families on a magical journey from Chorley town centre through Astley Park to meet Father Christmas at Astley Hall. The Santa express will meet at the new stop on Market Street opposite the Town Hall in Chorley, between 9.30 and 4pm every Saturday and Sunday in December up to Sunday 22 December residence in Astley Hall’s Inlaid Room in the run up to Christmas. Every child who meets Father Christmas will receive a special Christmas gift and there will be some festive fun to. The time slot you book is to meet Father Christmas at Astley Hall so please allow 30minutes before your time slot to travel on the Santa Express Train Alternatively if you and your family would simply like to take a ride on Chorley’s Santa Express land train, you can purchase a train ticket from the conductor at either the stop on Union Street, Chorley town centre or at Astley Hall. 5th December Croston Christmas Fair and Lights Switch On The Croston Christmas Fair is a traditional village Christmas celebration for all the family, organised by the people of Croston and run by volunteers as a non profit event. Loosely based on Hans Christian Anderson’s fairytale, the story is set in a kingdom of ice, where the wicked Queen rules with a cold heart. A plucky peasant sets out to defeat the Queen, and meets new friends and has magical adventures on the way. Group Bookings (10 or more) To book www.ticketsource.co.uk/ chorleytheatre/e-lrzbyd Chorley’s Winter Wonderland Get your skates on this Christmas and glide, pirouette and whirl across Chorley’s real ice rink when it returns as part of Chorley’s fantastically festive winter wonderland on Cleveland Street. Chorley Council is bringing the 60ft by 40ft real ice rink back to Chorley town centre with the whole family invited to enjoy a fantastic day out in Chorley’s Winter Wonderland, which will also have a Bavarian fun house, fairground ride, stalls selling festive food, drink and crafts and Betty’s Tipis will be back for people to sit back and enjoy their purchases. It will be open from every day from 10th December until 4th January, except Christmas Day. Opening hours and prices to be confirmed.
