22 raring2go.co.uk Raring2go! Education Back to School Bliss: Easing Your Child Into the New Term After Summer As the long, lazy days of summer draw to a close, many parents start to feel that familiar mix of relief and anxiety. There’s relief that routines are returning and anxiety about getting the kids back into school mode after six weeks of sun, never ending snacks and screens. But with a bit of gentle planning, preparing your child for the new school year can be a positive and even an enjoyable process. Start by resetting routines. Over the summer, bedtimes often shift later and mornings get slower. About two weeks before term starts, gradually move bedtime earlier and wake your child up a bit earlier each day. This helps avoid the shock of a sudden early start and gives their body clock time to adjust. Reintroducing structure doesn’t have to be dull. Bring back a sense of learning with light, fun activities like reading a chapter in a book together, playing educational games or even writing postcards which detail some of their summer adventures. This gently reactivates their academic brain without the pressure of homework. Talking about school is important too. Speak openly with your child about how they feel. Are they excited to see friends again? Nervous about a new teacher or jumping up to a new class? Reassure them with positive reminders of what they’ve enjoyed before and what they can look forward to. Getting organised can also be a great way to build excitement. Let your child help choose new school supplies or pick a special lunchbox. Lay out uniforms, pack bags and prep lunch ideas a few days before term starts to reduce last-minute stress. If possible, visit the school, especially if your child is transitioning to a new building or year group. Even a walk past the gates can help them reconnect with the environment. With a mixture of routine, reassurance and a little excitement, the back-to-school transition doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, it really can be a lovely chance to reflect, reset and get ready for another year of learning and growth. Back to School Bliss: Easing Your Child Into the New Term After Summer After six long weeks of summer fun, the return to school can feel daunting for children and parents alike. Here we offer some simple, stress-free tips to ease your child back into school routines with confidence. We cover sleep schedules, gentle learning, emotional prep and practical organisation for a smooth start to the new term. Photo by Jon Tyson on Unsplash

Switzerland, a nation that is known around the world for chocolate, neutrality and cuckoo clocks, will trade its distinctive ‘cowbells for corners’ this summer as it hosts the 14th UEFA European Women’s Football Championship. From July 2 to July 27, sixteen incredible teams will battle it out across eight Swiss cities and transform idyllic alpine settings into arenas of fantastic football frenzy. Forget yodeling, for the only high notes will be the roar of crowds celebrating spectacular goals... and we are anticipating a significant number of goals! The Swiss organsiers have pulled out all the stops and as expected been meticulous in their planning. Matches will take place in ecofriendly stadiums like Basel’s St. Jakob-Park and Zurich’s Letzigrund, where solar panels will power floodlights and vegan bratwursts will try to outsell traditional sausages. The organisers have pledged to offset all of the tournament emissions by planting 2025 trees; one for every time England fans nervously bite their fingernails cheering on the Lionesses. Fan zones will be filled atmosphere, revelry and fondue-fueled camaraderie, but molton cheese has been banned from matches after an incident during rehearsals! On the field, the drama is set to be sizzling. The ‘Lionesses’ aim to defend their 2022 title, but Spain’s La ‘Roja’, led by midfield maestro Alexia Putellas, are hungry for revenge. Meanwhile, Switzerland’s ‘Nati’, ranked 12th, hopes home advantage and their ‘Swiss Army penknife’ versatility (which in 2025 is a heady mix of veterans and rising stars), will carve an unmistakable path to glory. Coach Inka Grings commented, ‘We’re precise, punctual and great at multitasking. Just don’t ask us to lose on purpose.’ Off the pitch, the tournament is breaking ground. Record-breaking ticket sales (over 75% sold by April) and a first-ever ‘Legacy Fund’ will boost girls’ football programs across Europe. Even UEFA’s normally stern president, Aleksander Čeferin, cracked a smile while announcing a new gender-neutral trophy design: ‘It’s shiny. It’s equal. It’s heavy.’ So grab your hiking boots and practice your whistling as Switzerland 2025 promises goals, grit and maybe just maybe a stray fondue fork. Just don’t be late. The Swiss don’t do late! Live coverage of Women's Euro 2025 on TV is shared between BBC and ITV with every match shown live between them including shared live coverage of the final. UEFA European Women’s Championship Taking place in Switzerland this summer, this much anticipated tournament will see the mighty Lionesses defend their title. Over 25 glorious days of football in July, the world will unite to experience precision meeting passion. Photo by Connor Coyne on Unsplash 26 raring2go.co.uk Raring2go! Homemade Burgers with Mozzarella Our step by step guide to make a perfect burger with Mozarella cheese topping! 1: In a bowl, mix the minced beef, diced onion, salt & pepper (chilli powder & garlic powder if required) 2.Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. 3. Form each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Use your thumb to make a small indent in the centre of each patty (this helps them cook evenly). 4. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. 5. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. Adjust the cooking time depending on your preference (longer for well-done). 6. About 1 minute before the patties are done, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese. 7. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown. 8. Place the cooked patties with melted mozzarella on the bottom half of each bun. 9. Add any desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, or mustard. 10. Top with the other half of the bun. 11. Serve the burgers hot with your favourite side dish (chips, or salad). Enjoy your delicious homemade mozzarella cheese burgers! For the burger patties: 1 lb (450g) minced beef (80/20 blend for juiciness) 1 onion thinly diced Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional) ½ tsp chilli powder ( optional) For the assembly: 4 burger buns 4 slices mozzarella cheese Lettuce (optional) Tomato slices (optional) Ketchup, mustard, or your favourite condiments (optional) Pickles (optional) Mozzarella cheese burgers are a mouthwatering twist on a classic favourite. Juicy beef patties grilled to perfection, then topped with creamy, melted mozzarella that adds a rich and gooey texture. Serve on toasted buns and add fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce and a drizzle of garlic aioli or marinara sauce for extra flavour. The mozzarella’s mild, milky taste pairs beautifully with the savory beef, making every bite taste delcious. Perfect for summer barbecues or cosy dinners without fuss or formality. Raring2make!
