7 WHAT’S ON Raring2go! raring2go .co.uk 23rd & 24th April Fleecy Frolics Lambing Weekend – Merrist Wood College The College’s annual lambing event, held across two days, is a celebration of nature and countryside crafts. Visitors can meet our lambs, watch countryside craft demos, visit the farm, shop for homemade gifts, animal handling and more. From 30th April The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail- Camberley Prior to the historic celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on 2nd June 2022 you can take part in our specially created, augmented reality trail in Camberley. The trail is an experience where players visit 7 characters that have come to life from Buckingham Palace and are visiting our town on a day out. Players, guided by Sir Barnaby Beacon, visit each character, learning about a different decade in Her Majesty’s 70 year reign. As you spot the vinyl decals in windows around the town, you scan unique QR codes to collect digital stamps of them, engage with the story, where you can answer questions and choose how it progresses in a ‘choose your own adventure’ style. MAY 7th & 8th May DogFest - Loseley Park Bring your dog to DogFest Surrey, in partnership with Bought By Many, and treat them to a day which guarantees to get their tails wagging at Loseley Park. Try your paw at a variety of have-a-go activities from dog diving to agility, enter the Fun Dog Show for your chance to win Best in Show, or raise vital funds for Dogs Trust as you admire your surroundings on the Big Dog Walk. 31st May Crown & Flag Decorating – Haslemere Hub Crown and Flag decorating in honour of the Queen’s 70th Jubilee. 10:30-11:30 £3 per child, come and decorate your own crown and flag for the May half term. This activity is perfect for getting ready for street parties! Please pre book by emailing deeza.thehub@ gmail.com JUNE 2nd June Victoria Day - Aldershot town centre Activities and family entertainment include a parade through the town at 11am and the official opening of the Jubilee community bandstand. This year Victoria Day will have a 50s theme to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. 2nd – 9th June Right Royal Fun at Aldershot Military Museum Activities are free but a donation is requested for art materials. Drop-in activities include designing your own bunting, making a Union Jack and designing a crown and sceptre. 4th June Godalming Town Show & Carnival This year Godalming Town Show is the crown of this year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Godalming. There will be a themed Carnival parade, live music and entertainment, food stalls, beer tent and lots more! All profit from the day’s event will go to local charities. 4th June Queen’s Jubilee Picnic - Guildford Castle A free family event will be held in Guildford to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Coinciding with Guildford in Bloom, members of the public will be able to picnic in the beautiful grounds of Guildford Castle on June 4. Families are invited to bring along their own picnic and enjoy music and entertainment from Guildford Fringe Festival at the Bandstand between 12pm and 4pm. 4th June Jubilee BBQ at the Duke of York - Weyborne Road, Aldershot The Duke of York is hosting a party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the pub’s centenary year. The event will include bands playing live swing, jazz and jive music, a BBQ, raffle and a cake sale. All proceeds to Phyllis Tuckwell hospice in Farnham. Guests are encouraged to dress up as a character from the past 100 years.
