9 The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre’s purr-fect family pantomime runs from Friday 3 December to Sunday 9 January. This pussy cat and rat-packed panto party is a lovely festive treat for the whole family, and is full to the brim with super singing, dazzling dancing, gorgeous costumes, stunning sets and slapstick silliness aplenty (oh yes it is!). Dick Whittington’s heading to seek his fame and fortune in that there London - he’s heard the streets are paved with gold. But when he gets there he can’t see the gold beneath the grime, and the evil King Rat is out to get him! With his loyal cat by his side will he be able to save the city? He’s going to need a little help from you to win the day. The theatre is pleased to welcome back panto favourites Kit Hesketh Harvey and Peter Gordon, alongside James Merry from Cbeebies’ Waffle the Wonderdog, and a talented troupe. So get ready to boo, cheer, hiss and ‘he’s behind you!’ it’ll be a Whitting-tonne of fun for all. Panto is back in Guildford this year! For children who might be a too small for panto, why not bring them along to Robin’s Winter Adventure (Saturday 22 January)? This gem of children’s theatre follows a young boy’s incredible journey with a feathered friend, told with puppetry, poetry, music and magical design.
