A shadow show in a box! The light comes on, the stars glow and as the doors open the scenery starts to scroll before your eyes. ‘There was once an old lady who wanted to play with the stars…’ so begins the traditional tale which then takes off on an adventurous romp amongst the wild beasts of the stars. Fantastical shadow puppets leap across the scrolling background and even fly out of the box onto a large paper screen. Afterwards the audience are invited to stay and play with the puppets inventing their own adventures among the stars. www.courtyard.org.uk What's on contines on page 14
