There is so much to do at this time of year; you’ll find plenty of events and activities to choose from in this magazine. It can all get costly, so I have made sure to include some free / cheaper events too. And always remember, your local library will put on free activities during school holidays which I will help promote on our Facebook page – please follow for regular updates. We have been told that the King and Queen of fairies are very pleased, so why not come along and see for yourselves? Competition winners In our Summer magazine, we asked if any local children could take inspiration from the Fairy Gardens at Whitlenge and create their very own at home. We had some lovely entries and I’m pleased to reveal our winning garden went to Amelia Bryant (aged 9). She has a lovely set-up which lights up beautifully at night. And our runner-up prize went to Sabrina (9) and Gabrielle (7) who started their fairy garden in an unused part of the garden that doesn’t get enough sunlight for plants to grow – what a clever idea. I hope these families enjoy spending their vouchers in the Whitlenge garden shop to enhance their fairy gardens further.
