I was looking for somewhere local to take my daughter Hannah (10) and nephew Jack (6) for a couple of hours on a wet autumn day in October. We spotted Aztec Island Adventure Golf in our Raring2go! magazine and chose to give it a go. Hannah and I often enjoy a round or two of crazy golf - but it's something we usually do on holiday. Come to think of it, we've always gone to outdoor crazy golf places and taken our chances with the weather (well, when in the UK anyway!). I was keen to give the indoor version a go, and to be honest, it felt a little like we were going on a holiday via the Stourbridge Ring Road! The 18-hole course is split into two sections, or 'terrains.' The first is themed around lush, overgrown Aztec jungles with hidden ruins. I did wonder if Jack would be too young to enjoy the delights of Aztec Island, but he did well on the first section, even if he was a little scared by the compelling Halloween décor! The second section is more suited to older children, I'd say. Hannah really enjoyed the challenge as it was a different surface, making the putting even faster. The coastal ruins of this terrain were a nice touch and made it visibly different from the first part of the course. When we finished our adventure, Hannah and Jack were given a small bag of Haribo sweets each - all part of the Halloween Spooktacular. They both left feeling very pleased! We came at the wrong time to have lunch here, but they do serve food and drinks. You can find the menu and more info on the Aztec Island website. Overall, we had a lovely afternoon at Aztec Island and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The staff were very helpful and the venue was well thought-out. Parking wasn't a problem as we pulled up right outside. We used a 20% discount code (RARING) - a Raring2Go exclusive - which was helpful as we used the spare cash to buy drinks. Crazy adventure golf is thirsty work! 25
