We asked Jon what the main benefits are from his sport and he said that they are both physical and mental. Students training will improve fitness, coordination, increase mobility and flexibility as well as strengthening all of the bodies main muscle groups. Mentally, students will have increased levels of confidence and self esteem, they learn to goal set through the belt system, they are expected to live by the values of Taekwon-do which are courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. They also get to make new friends and learn to train and help each other. John Paul from Full of Beans North East, a children’s sports and fitness provider which places emotional and physical well-being of children at its heart is running the Great North Run for The Toby Henderson Trust. John Paul believes children with autism, gain so much from fun active learning and wants to help them release their inner super hero! The Toby Henderson Trust has been supporting autistic children, young people and adults and their families for over 20 years. The work they do empowers parents, families, and carers by sharing knowledge, experience and understanding.
