What’s On 6 raring2go.co.uk Emergency Service Visits (National Coal Mining Museum) - 28 July - Every Sunday throughout the school holidays, meet members of different Emergency Services and learn about their roles. Today is the Red Cross. The Sandtoft Gathering (The Trolleybus Museum) - 30 July (10am-4pm) - Our biggest and best event of the year. In addition to the Museum’s usual attractions, which include a Toy Museum, replica Cycle Shop museum, pre-fab home, Lecture Theatre and Exhibition Centre there’ll be a display of visiting vintage and classic car, lorries, buses and bicycles, more frequent motorbus tours of the local area, plus live music and a real ale beer tent provided by the Doncaster Brewery & Tap. A transport flea market, selling books, magazines, photos and other ephemera is held in the main Museum depot. This year, there will also be a flypast by a Lancaster Bomber from the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight! Razzamataz Summer School - 31 July to 4 Aug Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Do you want to be part of that world? Well … just keep swimming to … Summer School!!!! A week of all things Razz including our usual fun filled combination of: Confidence building activities, Making new friends, Musical Theatre Dance, Drama & Singing sessions, Street Dance & Pop Singing, Prop Making & Set Design. We have songs from lots of musicals with one theme! Ages – 4-7 (10am-1pm) and 7-16 (10am4pm) Amazelab - Robot Hands Workshop (Cutlery Works) - 1 Aug (10-11am) - Design and investigate how to make a working robot hand to take home! All aimed at 5–11-year-olds. £10 per child. Kids eat free at Cutlery Works. All workshops take place at Cutlery Works, Kelham Island, Sheffield STEAM Club Summer Holiday Special (National Coal Mining Museum) - 2-4 Aug (11am-12pm & 2pm-3pm) - 1-16 year olds are invited to join us for our hands-on STEAM Club. Enjoy a creative twist on your STEM subjects using authentic materials to explore the skills behind mining. Distinguish the differences between hydraulics and pneumatics as we learn how they were used in the coal mining industry. Construct a pneumaticpowered machine. £5 per child. Wacky Wednesday Taster Day (National Coal Mining Museum) - 2 Aug (10.15am-11am & 11.30am12.15pm) - Join us for a free Wacky Wednesday as we explore one of our fun weekly themes through interactive storytelling, activities, singing and crafts. Exclusively for under 5 years only. Booking is essential to guarantee your child’s place. The Knights Return (Sherwood Forest) - 4-6 Aug - The Knights have been wowing audiences for five decades now with their shows, and their telling of the Robin Hood legend is nothing short of spectacular. They will headline the festival’s second weekend in the arena with two performances daily. From jousting to jesting, we have the madcap Medieval Maniax back with us once again with their hilarious take on history.
