Raring2go! Solihull
7 Raring2go! WHAT’S ON? The Royal Shakespeare Company is excited to welcome audiences back to Stratford-upon- Avon this summer, with a programme that celebrates reunion, reconnection and revelry as friends and families flock to the banks of the River Avon. The RSC’s Summer programme begins with an outdoor production of The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare’s shortest and arguably funniest play. The show will be directed by Phillip Breen and run in the newly built Lydia & Manfred Gorvy Garden Theatre, located in the Swan Theatre Gardens alongside the River Avon, from 13 July – 26 September 2021. As Stratford-upon-Avon re-opens its doors, the RSC will also be celebrating the arrival of Summer with a series of free pop-up events, interactive workshops and outdoor performances for families. These events will run for four weeks, from 27 July – 20 August on the Bancroft Terrace and across the Garden Theatre. Visitors can brush up on their stand-up with fun, interactive sessions inspired by comedy and clowning, attend free musical performances and making-workshops lead by RSC Costume Practitioners, and on 20 August, celebrate the RSC’s costume making heritage with a Costume Day; featuring a series of free family-friendly activities taking place across the town.
