There is so much more to see than just butterflies though with a range of other minibeasts and even a caiman! 4. Lose yourself in a story We have a number of fabulous local theatres that often have shows in their schedule for families and young children. Have a look at what is coming up at places like Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, The Alexandra Theatre and Birmingham Hippodrome to see if something takes their fancy – this time of year is perfect to introduce younger children to live theatre but also a great way to get older kids off of their screens. 6. There’s more to shopping centres than retail therapy Look out for family friendly activities at our local shopping centres, like Resorts World and Touchwood. There are often sessions organised during school holidays and sometimes at the weekend that are free and don’t require booking in advance. Always make sure you check before you turn up as occasionally time slots do need to be reserved or there is a small charge to take part.
