SUMMER FUN AUGUST 7th – 8th August Peppa Pig is back in her oinktastic brand new live show, Fun Day Out! Join Peppa, along with her family and friends as they go to the zoo and also the beach for a special party- it’s going to be an exciting and fun packed day. Prepare to sing and dance with colourful scarecrows, feed the penguins, build big sandcastles, and even swim in the sea! Packed full of songs, dance and muddy puddles, Peppa’s Fun Day Out guarantees giggles and snorts for all Peppa fans, and a perfect introduction to theatre. 9thAugust Immersion Theatre are thrilled to be reviving their acclaimed production of Shakespeare’s funniest, most magical comedy of all: A Midsummer Night’s Dream! This hilarious adaptation sees Shakespeare’s fantastical characters brought vividly to life as audiences are transported to an enchanting world bursting with magic, romance, and of course, heaps of laugh-out-loud comedy! Four young lovers, a band of hapless actors, and a magical realm populated by mischievous spirits set on causing mayhem at every turn culminate in an unparalleled open-air experience of beauty and hilarity. 12th – 18th August The Big Screen will be returning to Knutsford Playing fields this Summer. Grab your picnic blankets, deckchairs, pack a picnic and head to Knutsford where you can just sit back and relax whilst watching some old favourites alongside new blockbusters. There will be a number of traders on site as well as small fun fair rides to keep the kids entertained. The Big Screen is FREE and no booking is required, just turn up and enjoy the outdoor cinema experience! 16th – 30th August If you can’t make it to the beach this year, they’ll bring the beach to you! With Watford Borough Council’s Big Beach, you don’t need to travel to the coast to feel the sand between your toes – just head to The Parade in the Town Centre! The beach is completely free – and is the perfect chance for people of all ages to lap up the summer sun, with deck chairs and tables provided to help you relax. There are a variety of beach toys and buckets and spades which you’ll be able to get from the beach hut – as well as any information you might need. The hut is open 10am to 4pm each day. Feel free to bring your own food and drink, or if you prefer, the Big Beach is surrounded by many fabulous restaurants from which you could order! 17th – 26th August Colourscape returns to Cassiobury Park with a full ten day festival. Enter a new world of colour and light. Explore a unique labyrinth of 70 interlinked chambers of intense colours and discover musicians and dancers interacting with you. Explore for a while and discover long views of intense colour and light. Move forwards and another view opens up - and another - and another! Musicians and dancers are found anywhere in this extraordinary space leading you on a journey of colour, music and space. Weekends will feature ensembles; dancers; new instruments, computer music. Weekdays will feature resident musician Michael Ormiston presenting family-friendly music where you can join in.
