5 Raring2go! PANTO TIME! 4 The wait is finally over! Aldershot’s favourites Robert Hopkins and Donovan Christian-Cary are back for another knock out pantomime this Christmas and lead a reunited and strong artistic team. Dick Whittington will mark Robert’s 27th consecutive pantomime at the venue as producer and director. Roberts’ productions consistently achieve critical acclaim, including being listed as one of the best UK pantomimes by The Stage in 2016/17. 2019 will also mark Donovan Christian Cary’s seventeenth consecutive show. Donovan’s accomplishments include winning Encores ‘Best Dame’ award, being named “one of the best dames in the business” by the Stage newspaper in 2011 and being nominated for Best Dame at the 2017 British Pantomime Awards. We put in so much effort to make sure that our panto is a truly magical production, with fabulous sets, stunning costumes, fantastic dancers, a great script and excellent songs and music. Acoustic Explorers – Winchester Science Centre Saturday 25th September to Sunday 21st November Put your investigation skills to the test and become and Acoustic Explorer. Take an adventure through some epic sounds and find out what an acoustic engineer does. Discover what reverberation is and how we use it to control sound. There will be awesome live demos and fun audience participation. Festival of Autumn – Rural Life Living Museum Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd October This is a brand new event! Our Festival of Autumn will incorporate elements of our traditional Harvest Home. The event will be celebrating warmth and wellbeing through the winter months and focusing on wellbeing practices such as yoga and pilates alongside good food and healthy living. Sing-A-Long-A The Greatest Showman – New Victoria Theatre Woking Sunday 3rd October Sing-a-Long-a Productions, producers of Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music and Sing-a-Long-a Grease brings you their newest show, the smash hit film musical that everyone can’t stop singing - The Greatest Showman! The live host will teach everyone a unique set of dance moves, show you how to use our interactive prop bags, and also get you to practice your cheers, your boos and even a few wolf whistles. What the Ladybird Heard – Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Tuesday 5th & Wednesday 6th October Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len have a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow. But they reckon without the tiniest, quietest creature of all: the Ladybird has a scheme of her own! Join the clever Ladybird as she leads the animals on their quest to save the day in this joyous stage adaptation of What the Ladybird Heard, the beloved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks. Fireman Sam – Princes Hall, Aldershot Sunday 3rd October When all of his friends go away, Norman Price decides to find adventure in Pontypandy and become the star of a visiting circus. But with a tiger on the loose and faulty lights, the adventure soon turns to danger. Can Fireman Sam come to the rescue and save the circus? Join Sam, Penny, Elvis, Station Officer Steele and Norman in an all singing, dancing, action-packed show. Splatter and Sponge – Haslemere Museum Friday 8 October As part of the Family Arts Festival Month come along and make colourful pictures using sponge and splatter techniques. Rogate Pumpkin Patch - Rogate Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th October & Saturday 16th through to Sunday 31st October Open for more days this year there is even more opportunity to Pick your Pumpkin from our charming and picturesque Patch in Rogate. There will be Merlin’s Wood to explore, Halloween décor, haystacks to climb, barrel rides and go-karts to whizz around in and maize to run through plus lots of pumpkin fun!
